Box-it sponsored Winchester Carol Concert helps Local Charities

We were delighted to be a sponsor of the popular Carol Concert held at Winchester Cathedral back in December. As a sponsor of the concert, which raised in the region of some £80,000, we also helped two deserving charities, Breast Cancer Haven and The Murray Parish Trust.

Breast Cancer Haven provides vital support for both men and women coping with the side-effects of breast cancer. It offers practical advice on a range of issues facing those individuals with breast cancer, with trained nurses, therapists and counsellors providing both emotional and physical support. There are Breast Cancer Havens in various parts of England, and they rely on the generosity of donations from supporters. Our local Breast Cancer Haven in Hampshire is located in Titchfield, Breast Cancer Haven Wessex.

The Murray Parish Trust was founded by Sarah Parish and James Murray following the loss of their first daughter to a congenital heart defect. The Trust, established in 2014, with the help of its supporters has raised £1 million through fundraising for its #2MillionSteps appeal in partnership with Southampton Hospital Charity to help fund a new state-of-the-art Children’s Emergency & Trauma Department at Southampton University Hospital. The #2MillionSteps appeal, initially launched in June 2016, aims to raise £2 million which the government has pledged to match, giving a total of £4 million, the required amount needed for a trauma centre which will help critically ill children across nine different regions.

Box-it has been pleased to play a small part in helping both charities through our Christmas Carol sponsorship and wishes them both well in their fundraising endeavours.
